"If you believe it's time to put principles above parties, character above campaign promises, and Common Sense above all -- then I ask you to read this book...."
In any era, great Americans inspire us to reach our full potential. They know with conviction what they believe within themselves. They understand that all actions have consequences. And they find commonsense solutions to the nation's problems.
One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America's future -- and, ultimately, her freedom.
Nearly two and a half centuries later, those very freedoms once again hang in the balance. And now, Glenn Beck revisits Paine's powerful treatise with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government's easy solutions, two-part monopoly, and illogical methods and take back our great country.

Our out of control government started much earlier than Obama who Mr. Beck seems content with assailing at any given opportunity. True conservatives would have been railing against the billions in corporate welfare given to profitable oil companies that started years ago, the billions given to Monsanto Corp., Archer Daniels Midland Corp. What idiot signs no bid contracts? Why are we still addicted to Muslim oil, just because a few politically connected people get rich? It kills our economy and our brave soldiers! Oil is a hundred year old stupid technology! Dear God why no outrage here Mr. Beck? Why are you silent about the revolving door of government regulators into lucrative private, wasteful industries that leach off our bloated government. True conservatives would have screamed until hoarse when told by our President "Deficits don't matter", but court jesters for the corporate ruling class like Mr. Beck remained silent and spoke up only when they knew that even though they may harm their country they wouldn't offend their corporate masters. How shameful to become a millionaire at the price of losing your integrity. Read the original Common Sense on this Mr. Beck is right, it is inspiring.

Gen Beck speaks the truth about the dishonesty, lying and self-serving on both sides of the aisle in Federal Government. He describes how both Republicans and Democrats, Senators, Congressman, and the President have all acted in favor of their own ideologies and self interest, rather then the interest of us, fellow Americans. Glen says we need a peaceful revolt. He's right! WE have been too tolerant too long. We must get involved if we want to retain America's traditional values.

It's a shame that such a great work of history from the Age of Enlightenment was used by a neo-con corporatist right-wing hack like Beck. Taking the words and works of the Founders of this nation and twisting them to fit their fascist views is nothing new; but tastless, vulgar and an insult to the true history, writings, and thought of that age. Being the mediocre he is; Beck doesn't realize that if the Founders were alive today they would include him and his ilk amoung the enemies of freedom and individual rights. But we now no longer live in an age of enlightenment; we live in an age of ignorant right-wing fundelmentalism preached by braying jackasses.

Forget this nut and his far out ideas, cloaked in seemingly rationale speech. Read Paine, then refresh yourself further with the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers. We need Beck's input like we need another term of the Bushes.
